Dollar and a Half Cardigan

Ravelry: Dollar and a Half Cardigan by Veronik Avery

I have been working on this cardigan off and on again for a couple of months now. I've finally finished the back and am working on one of the front pieces. I decided to make this pattern a little bit more challenging (as if it isn't already) by incorporating another yarn into the cable. This has bogged down my progress quite a bit, as I am having to knit with three separate strands of yarn and I have to make sure they all get wrapped around one another to keep the cable attached to the rest of the fabric. Oh well, I am sure the end result will be worth the extra aggravation, after all, I am the one who decided to do it this way.

My First Ever....Somethings

I have decided to jump on the bandwagon here, and have started a pair of shorties, or longies. I haven't decided, yet, how long I wish to make them. Maybe they will just be pedal pushers.

I actually started another pair with some yarn my gracious sister gave to me, but I was having a hard time knitting in the round on circulars. So I finished up the socks that were occupying my size 5 DPN's, grabbed a new cake of yarn and got started. When it comes to knitting in the round I think I am just stuck on using DPN's. I LOVE THEM!!!

I am using yarn from 100purewool.com. The first color is Purpura and the second is Portezuelo. I am loving this yarn! It is really soft and fluffy for 100% wool.

Andrew's Socks

I have finally finished a very late Christmas present for my nephew Andrew. Unfortunately I have two more pairs to knit for his two sisters. Oh well, Merry Christmas, Andrew!!

I knitted these socks on size 5 Lantern Moon DPN's, and the yarn is Wick from Knit One, Crochet Two, colorway #467.

Traveling Vines Dishcloth

I picked up this fabulous new yarn last week at my LYS. It's called Cascade Luna. It was very nice yarn to work with & I just love the depth of the color. I figured last night was a good time to knit it up since I'm waiting on some yarn from mamas on DS. It was a nice break & some instant gratification! The pattern I used is called Traveling Vines.

A Sisterly Dye

I went to my Sister's house this weekend so the hubs could help her hubs do some home improvement projects. So my sister & I busied ourselves with some dyeing. Well, in between child wrangling. Here's what we were able to come up with.

Sooo Pretty!

I got this yarn from Katie at Ewe Need It. Hand dyed & what a beautiful dye it is. Thanks Katie!

First Dyeing Experience

Jill's friend Katie from EWE NEED IT gave me a quick tutorial on how to dye yarn today. So we braved to venture into the crazy world of yarn dyeing. It was a lot of fun & I'm really happy with the way the yarn turned out. I can't wait to skein it up but it's still drying. But for now, here are some pictures!

Unoriginal Hat

This is my daughter Amber modeling my "Unoriginal Hat" by Stephanie Pearl McPhee. Took me forever to get it cast on & not have the stitches twist, but I finally made it through!
