This is my first attempt at designing a dishcloth. I love the way it turned out. Here's the pattern:

Materials:

Size 6 Needles

CO 38 sts.
Knit 4 rows of border.

Row 1: K2, *YO, K2tog; repeat from * to last 2 sts., K2
Row 2: K2, purl across to last 2 sts, K2
Row 3: K2, *SKP, YO; repeat from * to last 2 sts, K2
Row 4: K2, purl across to last 2 sts, K2
Row 5: Knit across
Row 6: K2, purl across to last 2 sts, K2
Row 7: K2, *P1, K1; repeat from * to last 2 sts, K2
Row 8: K2, *K1, P1; repeat from * to last 2 sts, K2
Row 9: Knit across
Row 10: K2, purl across to last 2 sts, K2

Repeat these 10 rows 4 times. Then rows 1 -4.

Knit 4 rows of border.

Bind off.
